Palangka Raya, March 1, 2021 - BPS-Statistics of Kalimantan Tengah Province has released some of the latest strategic indicators related to:

This was conveyed by the Head of BPS-Statistics of Kalimantan Tengah Province, Eko Marsoro, accompanied by Akhmad Tantowi, Intermediate Functional Coordinator of Distribution Statistics Function and Gatot Rusdyanto, Middle Functional Coordinator of Production Statistics Function.
The Development of Consumer Price Index and Inflation for February 2021
Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, 56 cities experienced inflation and 34 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Mamuju (1.12 percent) and the highest deflation in Gunung Sitoli (1.55 percent). Palangka Raya is the 13th city of inflation at the national level, while Sampit is the 32nd city of deflation.
Based on two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced inflation (0.21 percent), calendar year inflation rate (0.29 percent), and year-on-year inflation rate (0.67 percent). Meanwhile, inflation occurred in Palangka Raya (0.33 percent) and deflation in Sampit (0.02 percent).
Farmers' Exchange Rate Developments for February 2021
Kalimantan Tengah's Joint NTP rose 0.66 percent, from 109.43 (January 2021) to 110.15 (February 2021). This increase was driven by the increase in the exchange rate in the horticulture sub-sector (2.06 percent) and the smallholder plantation sub-sector (1.45 percent).
The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) increased by 0.96 percent, from 110.84 (January 2021) to 111.90 (February 2021).
Development of Accommodation Services for January 2021
The room occupancy rate (TPK) for star hotels during January 2021 reached 30.14 percent, down 18.13 points compared to December 2020 which was 48.27 percent. The ROR for non-star hotels also fell 0.69 points, from 18.74 percent to 18.05 percent.
The average length of stay of guests (RLTM) at star hotels in January 2021 reached 1.56 days, while non-star hotels were 1.15 days. The number of guests staying at star hotels in January 2021 was 15.13 thousand people, down 39.55 percent compared to the previous month, while in non-star hotels it fell 1.00 percent.
Development of Transportation Services in January 2021
The number of sea transport passengers fell 4.54 percent, from 18,750 people (December 2020) to 17,899 people (January 2021). Meanwhile, the number of air transport passengers decreased by 18.09 percent, from 69,215 people (December 2020) to 56,695 people (January 2021).
Freight traffic using sea transportation decreased by 10.27 percent, from 1.42 million tons (December 2020) to 1.28 million tons (January 2021). Meanwhile, freight traffic using air transportation decreased by 21.64 percent, from 1,160 tons (December 2020) to 909 tons (January 2021).
Foreign Trade Developments for January 2021
The export value of Kalimantan Tengah in January 2021 reached US$232.57 million, up 22.94 percent compared to December 2020 or up 60.40 percent compared to January 2020. The import value of Kalimantan Tengah during January 2021 reached US$1.09 million, down 63.79 percent compared to December 2020 or down 68.50 percent compared to January 2020.
Kalimantan Tengah's foreign trade balance experienced a surplus of US$231.48 million in January 2021, up 24.34 percent compared to the trade surplus in December 2020.
Harvest Area and Rice Production 2020 (Fixed Number)
The rice harvested area in 2020 is 143.28 thousand hectares, a decrease of 2.87 thousand hectares or 1.96 percent compared to 2019 which was 146.16 thousand hectares.
Rice production in 2020 was 457.95 thousand tons of milled dry grain (GKG), an increase of 14.39 thousand tons or 3.24 percent compared to 2019 which was 443.56 thousand tons GKG.
