Monday, 6 May 2024 – Kalimantan Tengah Province BPS released several indicators, including: Economic Growth in the First Quarter of 2024, Employment Conditions in February 2024, and the Gender Inequality Index.

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2023 (y-on-y) experienced growth of 5.01 percent. Almost all business fields grew positively, except for the Other Services business field which experienced a contraction of 3.18 percent. The business fields that experienced the highest growth were Mining and Quarrying at 13.10 percent, followed by the Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security business fields at 11.03 percent; and Information and Communication at 7.96 percent.
