Exports Decrease 34.61 percent, Imports Up 23.5 percent

Abstract

The total value of exports fell 34.61 percent from US $ 201.01 million (August 2018) to US $ 131.45 million (September 2018). Mineral fuels are still the prime export commodity (US $ 47.64 million), contributing 36.24 percent of total exports.

The total value of imports also rose 23.50 percent from US $ 11.87 million (August 2018) to US $ 14.66 million (September 2018). Cumulatively, it rose quite high at 251.08 percent from US $ 53.72 million (January-September 2017) to US $ 188.60 million (January-September 2018).

The foreign trade balance was a surplus of US $ 116.79 million (September2018) and US $ 1,231.58 million (January-September 2018).
