Abstract

The number of guests staying at star hotels fell 74.48 percent, from 11,642 people (March 2020) to only 2,971 people (April 2020). The number of guests staying at non-star hotels also fell by 51.74 percent, from 55,730 people (March 2020) to 26,893 people (April 2020).
  • Cumulatively, the number of guests staying at star hotels fell by 35.97 percent, from 93,994 people (January-April 2019) to 60,181 people (January-April 2020). In contrast, the number of guests at non-star hotels rose 2.77 percent, from 211,244 people (January-April 2019) to 217,092 people (January-April 2020).
  • Room occupancy rate (ROR) of star hotels fell 10.83 points, from 35.86 percent (March 2020) to only 25.03 percent (April 2020). In the same period, the ROR for non-star hotels also dropped by 6.51 points, from 16.03 percent (March 2020) to only 9.52 percent (April 2020).
  • The average length of stay at star hotels (1.98 days), longer than those in non-star hotels (1.16 days).
