Abstract

The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) of Kalimantan Tengah Province in 2020 was 74.91 on a scale of 0 to 100, this figure decreased by 6.25 points compared to the IDI in 2019 which reached 81.16. Based on the classification of the level of democracy, where an index value greater than 80 is categorised as “Good”, an index value of 60-80 is categorised as “Medium”, and an index value of less than 60 is categorised as “Poor”. Thus, the achievement of democracy performance in Kalimantan Tengah Province in 2020 is in the "Medium" category.

IDI changes in the 2019–2020 period were influenced by three aspects of democracy, namely (1) Civil Liberty increased 6.29 points (from 86.31 to 92.60), (2) Political Rights decreased by 13.26 points (from 78.24 to 64.98), and (3) Institutions of Democracy which fell by 10.88 points (from 79.32 to 68.44).
