September 2021: Palangkaraya experiences 0.04% inflation and Sampit experiences 0.17% inflation

Abstract

Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation during July 2021. The highest inflation was in Pangkal Pinang (0.60 percent) and the highest deflation occurred in Gorontalo (0.90 percent). Palangka Raya is ranked 32nd city of inflation, while Sampit is ranked 23rd city of inflation.

Inflation in Palangka Raya (0.04 percent) was influenced by an increase in the index of the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.05 percent) and the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups (0.05 percent), as well as the equipment group, equipment, and routine household maintenance (0.04 percent).

Inflation in Sampit (0.17 percent) was influenced by an increase in the education group (2.20 percent), the health group (0.32 percent), and the clothing and footwear group (0.18 percent).

Based on the two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Kalimantan Tengah experienced inflation (0.08 percent), calendar year inflation rate (1.24 percent), and year-on-year inflation rate (2.17 percent).
