August 2021: The Open Unemployment Rate of Kalimantan Tengah Province is 4.53%

Abstract

The workforce in August 2021 was 1,410.31 thousand people, an increase of 28.87 thousand people compared to August 2020.

The Labor Force Participation Rate also increased by 0.27 percentage points compared to August 2020, which was 68.67 percent.

The Open Unemployment Rate was 4.53 percent, a decrease of 0.05 percentage points from the situation in August 2020.

The working population is 1,346.44 thousand people, an increase of 28.31 thousand people compared to August 2020.

The main job fields with the largest decrease in the percentage of workers were in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries category, which decreased by 0.60 percentage point, while the largest increase was in the Mining and Quarrying category which increased by 0.42 percentage point compared to August 2020.

A total of 747.27 thousand people (55.50 percent) of the population work in informal activities, down by 0.30 percentage points compared to August 2020.

The percentage of underemployed workers decreased by 2.03 percentage points, while part-time workers increased by 1.76 percentage points compared to August 2020.

There are 151.54 thousand people (7.38 percent of the working age population) affected by Covid-19. The population affected by Covid-19 consists of Unemployment due to Covid-19 (6.21 thousand people), Not the Work Force due to Covid-19 (2.78 thousand people), While Not Working due to Covid-19 (13.97 thousand people), and Reduction of working hours due to Covid-19 (128.57 thousand people).
