Abstract

Out of 90 national CPI monitoring cities, 67 experienced inflation and 23 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan (1.20 percent) and the highest deflation was in Luwuk (0.39 percent). Palangka Raya and Sampit were ranked 36th and 25th highest inflation cities at the national level.
  • Inflation in Palangka Raya (0.23 percent) was influenced by increases in the price index in the transportation group (2.06 percent) as well as information, communication and financial services (0.57 percent).
  • Inflation in Sampit (0.37 percent) was also influenced by increases in the price index of the transportation group (1.53 percent) and food, beverages, and tobacco (0.54 percent).
  • Based on the two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced inflation (0.28 percent), followed by a calendar year inflation rate (0.53 percent) and a year-on-year inflation rate (1.39 percent) which was quite low .
