July 2022: Palangka Raya experiences inflation of 0.56 percent and Sampit experiences inflation of 0.24 percent

Abstract

In July 2022, based on two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, inflation in Kalimantan Tengah was 0.44 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.89. Of the 90 CPI cities, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kendari at 2.27 percent with a CPI of 113.98 and the lowest was in Pematang Siantar and Tanjung at 0.04 percent with a CPI of 112.53 and 113.88.
  • The combined inflation for the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in July 2022 was due to an increase in the index of the transportation group (1.67 percent), the education group (0.93 percent), the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group (0.36 percent).
  • Calendar year inflation (July 2022 to December 2021) for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 4.71 percent and year-on-year inflation (July 2022 to July 2021) was 6.79 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation in July 2022 include air transportation, shallots, rice, tuna/ambu-ambu fish, tilapia, tomatoes, household fuel, sand, cayenne pepper, and wet shrimp.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation in July 2022 include broiler chicken, cooking oil, long beans, catfish, green mustard, garlic, gold jewelry, salted fish, powdered milk and kale.
